FAQ's

How do I get around in Cape Town/Franschhoek?

When staying in Cape Town/Franschhoek, Uber is the best way to get around. Booking a transfer to/from the wedding if staying off site for the Welcome Braai and Wedding Day is a must, as Ubers can be much harder to get late at night in Franschhoek. For all transfers that you require, please contact Sorita at 'Charters for Events'. We have booked all of our transfers through Sorita (including airport transfers), and it is best to reach her through WhatsApp on +27 (0) 674097744

When contacting her, please state:

Date of transfer

Time of transfer

Flight no. (if applicable)

Pick up address

Drop off address

No. of passengers and amount of luggage

Name of lead passenger and contact number

What is the dress code?

Welcome Braai: Smart casual - think floaty dresses and linen shirts

Wedding Day: Summer formal - think linen suits and shirts, and silk dresses. Ties are not compulsory

Do I need cash/card at the events?

There is no need to bring cash/card for all events - there will be an open bar

What’s the average temperature in Franschhoek?

It’s peak Summer in South Africa and temperatures can reach up to 30 degrees Celsius. Please ensure you are well hydrated with sufficient sun cream

Genuinely, your presence is our gift, however, we’ve been asked a number of times regarding a Wedding List. Please find our Wedding List link here

What is the best way to pay in Cape Town?

We use Monzo all the time for the best exchange rates and no fees, however other banks like ‘Revolut’ amongst others offer the exact same service. It is, however, always useful to have some cash on you - we often use this to tip in the Ubers and restaurants
